History of Pehel Foundation Charitable Trust

1. Origin and Initial Activities (2019)

PEHEL Foundation informally began its activities on the early morning of 30 June 2019, when a group of socially motivated individuals assembled at Paota C Road, Jodhpur with a specific objective:
to transform the stretch into a shaded green corridor through systematic plantation.

A total of 51 saplings were planted on the same day.
During this phase, the initiative operated under the informal title “Mehak Foundation,” symbolizing the fragrance and positive environmental impact they sought to introduce.

2. Expansion During COVID-19 (2020–2021)

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, while most activities in the city slowed, the group utilized the available time constructively for continuous environmental work. Key actions undertaken include:

  • Expansion of plantation activities

  • Regular watering, monitoring, and protection of planted saplings

  • Strengthening of green canopy development along Paota C Road

This period established the group’s identity as an environmentally committed unit and significantly improved plant survival rates.

3. Strategic Planning and NGO Formation (Mid 2021 – Mid 2022)

Between January and March 2022, the group conducted structured discussions to formalize its work.
During this period, members identified the need for:

  • A registered organizational structure

  • Defined operational domains

  • Long-term strategic clarity

Six core working pillars were identified:

  1. Environment

  2. Education

  3. Health

  4. Yoga, Meditation & Sports

  6. Charity

This framework laid the groundwork for establishing a registered trust.
