Environmental Ambulance

In a powerful stride toward environmental preservation, Pehel Foundation has launched an innovative initiative that is perhaps the first of its kind in the country — the “Environmental Ambulance.” Inaugurated on May 18, 2025, at the premises of St. Austin's School, this pioneering concept redefines how we care for plants and green spaces in our communities.
Developed with the vital support of St. Austin’s School and Chemical and Mineral Industries Pvt. Ltd. (CMIPL), the Environmental Ambulance aims to go beyond the symbolic act of planting trees. Its mission is to ensure continuous care, nourishment, and protection of plants — a crucial step often overlooked in environmental campaigns.
What is the Environmental Ambulance?
At its core, the Environmental Ambulance is a mobile plant-care unit — equipped to act swiftly and efficiently in maintaining greenery across the region. It features:
-
A 550-liter water tank
-
Tools like khurpis, spades, and digging equipment
-
Supplies for fertilization, composting, and replacing dead plants
This mobile unit is designed to serve as an on-ground responder for the upkeep of urban and community plantations, particularly in areas where maintenance resources are often scarce.
Addressing the Missing Link in Environmental Efforts
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kamlesh Parihar, President of Pehel Foundation, emphasized a critical gap in green initiatives:
“Today, governments and individuals are enthusiastic about planting trees, but regular maintenance is often neglected. Without care, these efforts remain incomplete. The Environmental Ambulance is our answer to bridging that gap.”
Indeed, the Foundation’s initiative responds to a pressing reality: plantation drives are only as effective as the care that follows them. By ensuring plants receive timely water, nutrients, and maintenance, the Environmental Ambulance enhances the survival and growth rate of saplings, making environmental projects more impactful and sustainable.
A Community-Led Green Revolution
The launch event witnessed the participation of several key figures from Pehel Foundation, including Secretary Mr. Manoj Vidhani, Vice President Mr. Ashish Mehta, Joint Secretary Mr. Vishal Singhal, and Media Coordinator Mr. Harish Khayani. Their active involvement and shared commitment underscored the collective energy driving this green revolution.
Looking Ahead
The Environmental Ambulance is more than a vehicle — it is a symbol of responsibility toward our environment. As urban spaces continue to grapple with deforestation, pollution, and climate stress, initiatives like these demonstrate how innovation, collaboration, and community action can together create meaningful change.
Pehel Foundation’s initiative serves as a reminder: Planting a tree is just the beginning. Protecting it is the real commitment.
